Fleet Links
Been a bit busy quite recently but I have had an idea to provide you with a list of links to make up your own complete freeware fleet. I'll be uploading one manufacturer a day starting tomorrow and will cover both FS9 and FSX though some FSX planes will require modification (see the tutorial in this blog for more details) to work in FSX.
Thanks and I hope this is of some help to you!

Power Saver Tip for Longer Flights
NOTE: This works on Windows XP, Vista and 7 with FSX. I would be very much obligied if someone could check if this works with FS9 for me.
---
So then, you want to fly all those long flights but don't have the time? You have been told to leave it on pause but don't want to pay huge electricity bills for your PC to run 100% power overnight. Well there may be a solution...

Aircraft Conversion Tutorial
Good Afternoon,
Today I will be putting up a tutorial teaching you how to use your favourite FS9 aircraft in FSX. Before I begin though there are several items I must get out of the way:
1. Any modification work undertaken using this tutorial is AT YOUR OWN RISK. Always back-up work and any files being used before starting. Under no circumstances, am I responsible for any form of damage caused through using this tutorial.
2. Any aircraft created using this tutorialare not to be redistributed without the consent of the original author of those files. This tutorial is for your own private use only. This tutorial is to be used for freeware files only.
3. You may find yourself unable to access or modify some of the file's mentioned in this tutorial. If you are having trouble accessing any files make sure you are opening files as the administrator or alternatively right click on the FSX folder, open properties and edit the security to give your user full control rights. This should allow you to access and edit any .cfg file.
Any further additions or edits will be made to this original post.
Thank you and I hope you find it useful.

FSX Tuning by Nick Needham
Following on from my introductory post I thought I would begin by introducing you to some of the most important tuning tips for Microsoft Flight Simulator X by Nick Needham.
This is an absolute must for you FSX owners who wish to greatly improve the performance of FSX. It is a series of simple and easy tweaks (with additional ones for nVidia cards using nHancer) to improve FSX. It allows you to improve almost ever aspect of FSX, increase the amount of load you can put on the system without any adverse effects and even improve your frame rates at the same time as this. A side effect of this for me was that it even seemed to stop, or at least reduce the frequency of FSX's biggest flaw, its fatal errors. I highly recommend a good read of this:

Just think, a possible solution to the fatal errors in FSX while improving your performance. A must read.
